5/19 -- Interleague play

The goal of this blog is to be both informative and interactive, and unfortunately, it has been lacking a bit of the latter. So, in the hopes of hearing from you, I'll pose the following question:

With MLB about to kick off "Rivalry Weekend," which interleague rivalry is of the greatest interest to you?

a) Phillies vs. Red Sox
b) Yankees vs. Mets
c) Orioles vs. Nationals
d) Angels vs. Dodgers
e) Giants vs. A's
f) Other ... and why?

Yankees-Mets is my choice as top interleague rivalry, but since when are the Phillies and Red Sox rivals?

My two cents: Whenever there's interleague play, two NL teams have to play each other anyway.

So how about this. Whenever MLB declares "Rivalry Weekend," let the Phillies and Pirates be those two NL teams, and play an extra series against each other. I miss their old days together in the NL East, they were the games I looked forward to the most.

Mets, Yanks. I actually have a crazy idea the Phils may have a shot at this thing called playoffs come Sept. Oct. So any chance the Phils can catch up to the Mets Go Yanks!! That is if you can beat the Brewers and Red Sox..............

Thanks for the notes.

Yeah, I'm partial to the Subway Series, too, probably because I grew up near NY. Today's result -- Yankees 5, Mets 4 -- makes me particularly happy.

Anyone see the brawl in Chicago today. Crazy stuff. I forgot to include Cubs-White Sox on the list, but that's a pretty good interleague rivalry, too.

Not sure who decided to make the Sox and Phils rivals, but the Phils don't really have a rival in the AL. Phils-Pirates wouldn't be a bad idea, though.

Yeah I saw the brawl. Pissed me off. My boy Mabry was just minding his own business when somone tried to sucker him from the side. Anyway he got out of the way. No injuries.
