NEW YORK -- So, on the cab ride over from La Guardia, I marveled at the progress that has been made on Citi Field, the sparkling new ballpark that rises beyond the left-field wall here at Shea. Looks like the place will be ready long before next season starts. Looks like it'll be pretty nice, too.The fans here are already in mid-season form, by the way. Turns out, Shane Victorino's trash-talk is, too. When the Phillies took the field for their pregame stretch, several folks began heckling Victorino and Jimmy Rollins. Victorino smirked and fired back with something about how he didn't see the Mets in the playoffs last season. There were some other remarks, too, but this is a family blog.

Don't wuss out Slauber. Post the details of the brawls between Phillies fans and Met fans. There are some scores to settle in the blue seats. If need be, get out of the press box and report first-hand on those friendly disagreements between fans. I want all the gory details posted HERE.
Is Victorino really in a position to talk trash? Let your bat do the talking, Shane. Focus your energy on getting to first base.
