That's what Shane Victorino said when he connected for a grand slam in the second inning. But really, Brett Myers set up the entire inning. He came up with 2 outs and Pedro Feliz on third base in a 1-1 game.
He swung from his heels and fell behind 0-and-2. He fouled off a few pitches, drawing ovations from the crowd for getting his bat on a ball thrown by the great CC Sabathia, while working the count full. Then he took ball four. It was a 9-pitch at-bat. Jimmy Rollins also walked before Victorino connected.
Even if Myers had ended the inning there, he drove up Sabathia's pitch count. Sabathia was at 51 pitches through 2 innings and 73 pitches through 3 innings. Sabathia might be a dominant pitcher, but he's not going to last very long with such a high pitch count, especially when he's pitching in his fourth straight game on 3-days' rest.
The Phillies can thank Myers for some of that.
