May 5 -- NO. 744

SAN FRANCISCO -- It only took one pitch.

Barry Bonds blasted the first pitch he saw from Phillies starter Jon Lieber over the center-field fence for his 744th career home run. He also kept moving up the all-time list in runs and RBIs. And, with that, all fans in attendance at AT&T Park will leave with a pin that reads, "I Was There." The Giants are handing out the pins each time Bonds goes deep at home this season.

Bonds, it should be noted, is expected to get a rest tomorrow night in the series finale. Left-hander Cole Hamels will be on the mound for the Phillies. I can already hear the wheels turning at colehamelsfacts.com.
