June 1 -- TRIVIA

Quick, name the first person to shake Hank Aaron's hand after he hit his 715th home run and passed Babe Ruth to become the all-time home-run king:

a) Braves first-base coach Jim Busby
b) Dodgers first baseman Steve Garvey
c) Dodgers pitcher Al Downing
d) On-deck batter Dusty Baker
e) None of the above

Click here for the answer. It may surprise you.

On a related note, Barry Bonds is in town, which means the circus has arrived. I'll be blogging all weekend from Citizens Bank Park, so make sure to check back early and often. Typically, Bonds speaks to reporters on the first day of every series, but that wasn't the case earlier this week in New York. If Barry says anything, I'll post it here. Meanwhile, does anybody really think Bonds will break Aaron's record anywhere but in San Francisco?

Nobody should believe Baroid will hit his record breaking homerun anywhere but in SF. If he is on the road and within 1 of the record, he will simply not try. There is no way he will put himself in the situation where he'll got booed when he breaks the record.

Also, is there a bigger jerk as a person in all of professional sports?

How dumb is Elmer Befuddled to get thrown out for a check swing call in the 1st inning? Oh well, it's better for him not to be on the bench anyway. Time to get rid of this redneck as the manager. He can't even finish sentences without stumbling over his own tongue during interviews.
