June 2 -- FUELED BY COLE

Cole Hamels doesn't believe in intentional walks.

No, that isn't a line from one of my favorite Web sites. It's actually how Hamels feels about giving a batter a free pass. In Hamels' mind, there isn't a hitter he can't get out. Therefore, there isn't a hitter he should intentionally put on base. Barry Bonds is in the lineup tonight, so we'll see how Hamels, who has never faced Bonds but is eager for the chance, deals with him. Hamels, by the way, stands between the Phillies and a five-game losing streak, and there isn't any pitcher Charlie Manuel would rather have to stop the slide.

Here's the rest of the Phillies' lineup: SS Jimmy Rollins, RF Jayson Werth, 2B Chase Utley, 1B Ryan Howard, LF Pat Burrell, CF Aaron Rowand, 3B Abraham Nunez, C Rod Barajas.

* Anyone else notice Bobby Abreu is leading off for the Yankees today? I'm just sayin'.

More later.
