June 11 -- KLINE OUT, MORE DRAFTEES IN

MIAMI GARDENS -- The Steve Kline experiment is over.

Kline, a veteran lefty reliever, has been released by the Phillies after going 0-2 with a 5.16 ERA in 20 appearances for Class AAA Lehigh Valley. Opponents were batting .298 against Kline, and lefties were hitting a whopping .341. He had been suspended by the Phils and the International League for bumping umpire Mike Estabrook during an argument earlier this week. The Phillies signed Kline to a minor-league contract in April.

So, there's that.

Also, the Phillies have signed seven more draft picks, including third-round Vance Worley, a right-hander from Cal State Long Beach. Others who signed: RHP Julio Rodriguez (eighth round), RHP Brian Rosenberg (13th round), LHP Sean Grieve (21st round), LHP David Noles (24th round), RHP Ryan Bergh (26th round) and LHP Spencer Arroyo (31st round).

And, finally, tonight's lineup against Marlins LHP Andrew Miller (4-5, 5.65): SS Jimmy Rollins (.280/5/22), CF Shane Victorino (.284/2/17), 2B Chase Utley (.311/21/56), 1B Ryan Howard (.211/15/49), LF Pat Burrell (.281/16.42), RF Jayson Werth (.268/9/26), 3B Pedro Feliz (.248/8/30), C Carlos Ruiz (.226/2/16), LHP Cole Hamels (6-4, 3.36)
