June 7 -- WERTH ACTIVATED

ATLANTA -- This just in: Jayson Werth has been activated from the disabled list and will be able to play tonight. Chris Snelling has been outrighted to Class AAA Lehigh Valley. He has three days to accept or reject the assignment. If he rejects, he becomes a free agent.

Snelling is 2-for-4 for the Phillies, and both hits were big ones. He homered in the ninth inning May 15 against Houston in an eventual 4-3 win, and he doubled to open the 10th inning of last night's 4-3 victory over the Braves.

Werth has been sidelined since May 23 with a strained abdominal muscle.

I sure hope Snelling accepts the demotion because he could be a valuable re-enforcement if we have another injury. I am more confident in him then TJ Bohn.
He did contribute in the few at bats for the Phils! Don't want to see him go!

Snelling's homer against Houston did not tie the game, it made it 3-1. Burrell's homer later in that inning tied the game 3-3.

Daniel: You're correct. Clearly, my memory is fuzzy.
