July 2 -- MYERS UPDATE & CARRASCO INJURED

ATLANTA -- Brett Myers has left the game at Lehigh Valley after 100 pitches (mostly off-speed stuff). Myers' rather underwhelming line: 5 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K. He rarely touched 90 mph on the radar gun, and from what we've heard, the gun was turned off at one point during the game.

According to Martin Frank, who is heading up our coverage tonight from Allentown, there are at least 11 newspaper reporters and several TV reporters at Coca Cola Park tonight to cover Myers' return to the minors. By contrast, there are six newspaper reporters and no local TV folks here at Turner Field for the Phillies-Braves game.

So much for Myers escaping the media's glare.

Carlos Carrasco was scratched from his scheduled start tonight for Class AA Reading, but a trusted source in Reading tells me that Carrasco felt tightness in his right shoulder in the bullpen after two pitches. Carrasco also went through his entire pregame routine, including long-tossing in the outfield. There is no indication -- repeat, no indication -- that he was scratched because he'll be starting for the Phillies on Friday night.

More later.

Any updates on Carrasco's medical exam?
