Hello again, from Shea Stadium.The Phillies have signed INF Michael Garciaparra, younger brother of Nomar Garciaparra, to a minor-league contract and sent him to Double-A Reading. Michael is the latest in a line of less-accomplished brothers who have played for the Phillies, joining Vince DiMaggio, Frank Torre, Ken Brett, Mike Maddux, Jeremy Giambi and Jake Blalock. Michael, 23, is a .267 career hitter in five seasons in the Seattle Mariners' organization, reaching Triple-A for 42 games last season and batting .316.

In the Dimaggio house there were three brothers in the big leagues and Vince was the worst... They weren't even sharp enough to get Dom, they had to settle for Vince.
That is just a funny tidbit. It totally coincides with the history of bad luck of the Phillies! Always the less talented brother.
You just have to laugh!
