Oct. 4 -- BEER AND BASEBALL, IN THAT ORDER

By CHRISTOPHER YASIEJKO

For those who have ventured to Milwaukee to witness what seems likely to be for the Phillies an on-the-road series victory, I've summoned my exceptional hyperlinking skills to share with you a schedule for how to spend 36 hours in Milwaukee (courtesy of The New York Times).

The Brewers, oddly enough, don't seem to have been worth inclusion. But at least the story mentioned the city's new Bronze Fonz.

In the spirit of this matchup between teams from cities that know a good beer, today a few friends and I went to an Oktoberfest hootenanny (yes, it qualified as a hootenanny) in the streets of Center City. A couple of karaoke soldiers belched a "Let's go Phillies!" or two, but there was no audible mention of Milwaukee.

Photographs were taken, but the jury is deliberating about their publication.

Enough. The game's begun, and the Phils went down in order. Time to pay attention.
