Oct. 4 -- GAME 3 LINEUPS & MORE

MILWAUKEE -- Lots to get to before Game 3, so without further ado ...

Charlie Manuel has gone back to his usual lineup against a right-handed pitcher, putting Jayson Werth back in the No. 2 spot and sliding Shane Victorino back to No. 6. The rest of the lineup against Brewers RHP Dave Bush (9-10, 4.18 ERA during the season):

SS Jimmy Rollins (.375/0/0)
RF Jayson Werth (.250/0/0)
2B Chase Utley (.125/0/2)
1B Ryan Howard (.000/0/0)
LF Pat Burrell (.000/0/0)
CF Shane Victorino (.500/1/5)
3B Pedro Feliz (.125/0/1)
C Carlos Ruiz (.167/0/0)
LHP Jamie Moyer

... and for the Brewers ...

CF Mike Cameron (.000/0/0)
3B Bill Hall (.000/0/0)
LF Ryan Braun (.375/0/0)
1B Prince Fielder (.000/0/0)
SS J.J. Hardy (.167/0/1)
RF Corey Hart (.143/0/0)

Brewers manager Dale Sveum just met with reporters and said a few interesting things. First, he believes his hitters, who tend to be aggressive and sometimes prone to pulling the ball, will "have their hands full" with soft-tossing Moyer. Also, he thinks Miller Park favors hitters when the roof is closed. The roof will be closed tonight. By the way, the commissioner's office controls whether the roof is opened or closed. The commissioner, of course, is Milwaukee's own Bud Selig.

Legendary Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. I was in Cooperstown, N.Y., in 2003 when Ueck was inducted to the Hall of Fame. His speech was absolutely hilarious. If I can find a copy, I'll post it here.

Jeff Suppan has been named the Brewers' Game 4 starter, assuming there is a Game 4 and the Brewers need a starter. Haven't heard officially from the Phillies, but we're still assuming they would go with Joe Blanton.

More in a bit.
